Along the slender
valley of her torso
a riverbed
runs its course
and brooks
into her belly.

Skimming her face
like a sun-dappled lake
waves of hair
down dangerous
steeps of shoulders.

I lay my head
along her shores
handling smooth
pebbles in her river
and never
skipping them.
