Transformations

Cirrus clouds
matted angel's hair
shift to darker
swollen forms

Dropping low
surrounding
as the air stills
before the coming of storms

Smouldering
earth
below
trembling skies

Streams of steam
rise from the hearth
when cool rains
spatter tongues of fire.
