Treatment

treatment

naming every
thing inside me,
spelt exactly
what spleen
to call a scar
a scar, to know
I had a beating
heart, found it in my
fingertips.

when sleeping
woke me
with a gentle
dream, unweaving me.
no apologies for
my huge pupils
pinpointed
the sickness
and removed it.

never nervous
with those long tongs
like thighs touching
dislodge
those hands
careless
invite them again
two fingers at a time.

with engaging ease
treat me
in good faith
heal me
breath deeply
and pray
to reveal the source of
this patient kindness.
