Queen's Blast-Off Banquet

Rachel spent the morning decorating the Fest Building in Spring Grove, then we rushed off to Hokah, where she played piano for some of her voice students who were singing for a Mother's Day program at the church there. I went on to Onalaska, stopping first at a garage sale in Hokah that was in a very impressive old garage or fire station complex. I went to Party City to get 24 balloons inflated for the nautical banquet theme. I had a burrito at Burrachos and picked Rachel up in Hokah when she called and said she was done. We went back and completed the decorations, and then got ourselves ready for the banquet. We were the Emcees, and had to announce every princess and candidate for such position as KING OF THE TROLLS, MOST HONORED LADY, etc. We also told so many terrible Norwegian Jokes that I could take no more. Roar, Jill, Patty and her girls came back to our house for a few drinks, and then Rachel went back to deconstruct the Fest Building decorations after stopping at Norskis. I walked to Norskis, and found that she and the rest of the committee were still there, and had decided to do it tomorrow morning at 06:00 and then have breakfast at IVY GROVE. I stayed out talking with Dee-Dee and Matt, both from my high school class, and catching up, since none of us had talked much in this century. Then home for a very late dinner and an episode of COMMUNITY.
