You Can't Have Me
You know you can't have me
I was sold
when you turned
some years old.
Always knew you couldn't have me
its just
you're not
something that I've got.
I'm cheaper than you think
but you can't afford me
with my love
as soft as gold.
That's assuming you might want me
though I was owned
in these
second-hand clothes.
Never need
to free me
because I'm
not yours to give.
You know you can't
have it all unless
you stay as long
as you can live.
Though my heart
won't let you go, these hands
have always
followed your commands.
my mind
doesn't realize
that my eyes can
have seen the promised lands.
